Artist Statement

My work explores my relationship with nature through close observation and lived experience. I return to the same landscapes repeatedly, drawn to the subtle changes that unfold over time. Rather than focusing on grand views, I am interested in the quiet, often overlooked details—small shifts in texture, clusters of life, and moments of interaction that reveal themselves only through patience.

Working primarily in watercolor, I explore ecological relationships within these environments. My paintings move between individual forms and interconnected systems, reflecting how organisms exist both independently and as part of a larger whole. Through this work, I invite viewers to slow down, look closely, and engage with the complexity embedded in seemingly simple spaces.
